I guess I got a sinus infection and not a minor cold as I previously stated. We had a big breakfast at Hard Times in Minneapolis and headed out for Kansas City. I began to read Sherman Alexie’s Loan Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, but mostly just stared out the window. We drove fast but barely made it to the show in time to play. Rick from Chi was there. What are the odds? We sped through s short set and headed to the house where we would sleep. I strummed a guitar, Alex made us all some killer wraps, and then we drifted to sleep.
It’s been slow starting out. Congestion has me in a state of limited excitement, but the country looks good and the music feels great.
Yesterday I awoke in Chicago feeling slightly sickly, a minor cold stuffing up my nose. The freshly purchased large sized van failed to start so we had it towed, squeezed into Molly’s Honda minivan and headed north west to Minneapolis. Plans change but luckily we flow forward. Alex had a bit of Sinus Blaster Tincture which helped clear me up a bit and I joked about my height with a couple gas station attendants. After a long drive we arrived to find that the air was much cooler in Minnesota. We played the Triple Rock Social club, a bar owned by the members of Dillinger Four. Health Problems from Seattle played a raucous set with spooky vocal effects. Gooey Fame played guitar with us for the first time and we were as tight as ever. I tried a mock duck sandwich and danced a bit, but was too sick to spend all my free drink tickets or get really wild. Regardless we played great and people were nice and I slept soundly on a hard wood floor at the end of the night.
